日本人とイタリア人のハーフで、和食とイタリアンを融合させる柔軟な応用力とセンスを持つ。
幼い頃から双子の弟・イサミとともに実家の大衆食堂（トラットリア）を手伝っていたこともあり、同じく大衆料理店出身の創真とは良きライバル。

Born Japanese Italian, his dishes are often unique mix of both cultures.
As he helped out at the kitchen of his family Trattoria with his twin brother Isami, he sees Soma, who also worked at his family diner, as a rival.
